Ganahl Lumber Company is looking for a hardware sales employee to join our team in our Costa Mesa store. This person will actively seek out and engage customers to sell our product and/or services.

The ideal candidate is results-driven, hungry for customer acquisition, and passionate about contributing to top-line revenue growth. 

Responsibilities:

  • Customer service – Greet every customer, initiate conversation, answer questions and recommend merchandise based on customers wants and needs.  Assist the customers with locating various products and resolving complaints as they arise.
  • Demonstrate, promote, and sell Ganahl’s products and services - Strategically present functionality and key value propositions to all customers.
  • Merchandising Ideal candidate understands product positioning and possesses the talent to create visually-pleasing merchandise displays that attract a customer's attention.
  • Inventory, stocking and maintenance Ensure that products are available for customers to buy. Check shelves and replenish merchandise that is running low. When applicable must check dates on product labels and remove products that have passed their sell-by date. Responsible for price changes, replace the price labels on the products or shelves. Housekeeping, shelves and merchandise dusted, tattered labels removed and replaced, displays current and in good condition.
  • Develop and foster relationships - Maintain close communications with co-workers, vendors and customers to close sales and promote customer retention.
  • Meet and exceed targets - Achieve sales goals for new customer acquisition and overall sales growth.

 

Requirements:

  • High school diploma required (or equivalent)
  • 1-2 years experience selling hardware related products and services preferred
  • Excellent customer service skills 
  • Ability to manage and build relationships
  • Demonstrated ability to meet and exceed goals
  • Advanced skills in communicating, selling and negotiating
  • Knowledgeable of the company's products, services and customer-related policies
  • Ability to operate available equipment, such as lifts/ladders, pallet jack, paint mixers, computers, cash registers, scanners, etc.
