Job Summary:
The Hardware Sales employee will receive orders, generally in person, for products and services. Additionally, the position is required to describe available options, compute costs, accept payment and provide excellent customer service.Supervisory Responsibilities:
- None.
Primary Duties/ Responsibilities:
- Greet customers with respect and courtesy.
- Professionalism with other team members and Managers.
- Assisting other team members with projects or struggles they are facing.
- Keeping up to date with the product inventory and its functionality.
- Ensuring proper inventory levels are kept correct.
- Ask questions and provide relevant information.
- Walking each customer to the area they are seeking
- Advise customers on use and care of merchandise.
- Answer telephones to provide information and receive orders or direct the customer to the correct department.
- Recommend and provide advice on products and services.
- Maintain proficiency in all organizational safe working policies and practices.
- Perform other related duties as assigned, but not limited to:
- Forklift operation.
- Moulding calls to include cuts and loading.
- Cashiering as needed.
- Sharing knowledge and processes that have been learned with other team members.
- Perform cycle counting / product mapping of the entire store every 60 days.
- Clear product carts either with the device or computer hardware app.
- Keep all areas of the location clean and dusted.
- Put returns away as they arrive.
- Asking every customer where they are purchasing other items and why not from Ganahl.
- Ensuring your Area of Responsibility is ready every day to include
- All paint machines purged, nozzles cleaned, all other machines kept in working order, or work orders placed for repair.
- Radio etiquette to inform the team if you can assist or unable.
- Adheres to company policies and work requirements.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- The ability to read, write, understand, and relay, written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to operate available equipment, such as cash registers, calculators, or scanners.
- Basic mathematical skills, as needed to make change and give refunds.
- Knowledgeable about company’s products and services, and customer-related policies.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Successful completion of on-the-job training.
- Six months of related experience preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- This position requires prolonged periods of standing and working at the cash register or related equipment.
- Must be in adequate physical condition to perform requirements such as mental, physical and manual dexterity, hand/grip strength, depth perception and any other physical attributes that enable the employee to perform the job safely according to all Company, Local, State, and Federal regulations and requirements.
- Ability to lift/carry up to 70 pounds regularly.
- Ability to push/pull up to 70 pounds regularly.
- Must wear prescribed personal protective equipment when handling material or operating equipment.
Other Requirements:
- Must be able to successfully pass pre-employment and required drug screens as requested.
- Must be able to successfully pass a Physical Capacity Assessments as requested.
