Hardware Sales Manager
The Hardware Store Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the store. Some responsibilities include, but are not limited to, motivating the hardware sales team to drive sales and service through effective and consistent communication. Hire and recruit new employee as well as coach and develop existing employees to build a bench for future growth and promote the company as an employer of choice. The hardware manager must work closely with other management teams throughout they yard to identify areas of opportunities with inventory levels, processes and hospitality to support the overall success of the yard.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Conducts daily walks and communicates a game plan for the hardware team that upholds maintenance and in-stock expectations.
- Consistently observes the hardware team to deliver real time feedback on ways they can improve hospitality.
- Help the hardware team establish and maintain a backup source for high-demand items and establish inventory levels to support customer need.
- Analyze company metrics and creates strategies that meet/exceed company goals.
- Develops and maintains healthy working relationships with his/her staff, vendors, co-workers and other department employees.
- Ensures Product Directory, Cycle Count and all company initiative commitments are achieved.
- Creates promotional signage and updates digital monitors as needed.
- Schedule/coordinate promotional events that drive new business opportunities.
- Organize product knowledge meetings with vendors that train employees on new products and skillsets.
- Excellent communication with direct reports, peers and upper management.
- Proven history of inventory control procedures.
- Proficient in Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, etc.
- Extremely organized and forward thinking.
- Ability to develop professional relationships with outside vendors.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum 3 - 5 years of leadership experience.
- Proficient with computer technology
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Must meet physical requirements, lifting required
- Must be detail oriented
- Experience with computerized inventory systems required
- Forklift/Lift Equipment/Pallet Jack required.
- Requires periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds at times.
- Must be able to navigate warehouse and reach items both high and low.
